Cooking class

 Burgers 

Hello

Today i would like to talk about what we did on Thursday and Friday last week. Last week on Thursday and Friday we had cooking class. And our wonderful teacher Mrs Hindson told us that we were making burgers. So on Friday we made the patty and left it on the fridge for the night. Than on Friday we cooked them and made out full on burger. We put the bun on the board than we put our sauce than we put our vegetables and like carrots, beetroot, lettuce, onion and more. that we finished up then we had Mrs Hindson have a look at it then if she said we could eat it then we could. She said the burger had to be finished in twenty minutes so she said we could eat it now or eat it later but everyone decided to eat their burgers on the spot because they wanted to finish it n twenty minutes. We enjoyed our burgers very much. It was the ( BEST BURGER EVER!!!! ). of course for us to master this delicacy we had to follow the directions/instructions aka recipe. Drama

Today we were Practising our monologues for drama. We had to look for a monologue then put it on our template then we had to practise it. If it was a long monologue we had to break it down so we didn't have that much. If we wanted to practise the hole thing then we could but if we wanted to break it down then we could .  Here is my template which has my monologue. here is a link

Complements

Class Complements


 Kia ora:

On Monday our teacher gave us a sheet that had a rectangle inside and around it was some designs for us to colour. This sheet was for the class to put down some deep complements. First we had to decorate it then we would go around the class to write down some nice things on their sheets of paper. At the end when we wrote down all our complements we had to read them. 


When i read mine i felt really nice,happy, surprised and appreciated i felt really good when i read all my complements. Giving people complements was really fund it felt really good to tell me nice things about them. This activity was really nice and fun to do because we got to read nice and amazing complements and giving people complements that makes them fell good. Here is my sheet.

Aotearoa history show summary

In the past 6 weeks we have been listening to Aotearoa history shows. We have been learning about New Zealand wars and other new Zealand history's. we have been learning facts about it and writing down so we can answer questions in the doc that our teacher have given us to complete. In the task their were questions about the History show that we had to answer after we have done it we would do the word blank. The word blank is like finding words that you didn't know about we has to write down the word and research the meaning of it. There were each show for  each doc  that was full of questions of questions. So this was the last time we did the history show. Today we had to do a summary of what we learnt in the recent show. There were 3,00 people who died in the wars. Here is my summary and the facts that i have written down for the recent show too.

Today in hurumanu 6 we learnt about social media and body image. We were talking and looking at how the celebrities  and other people in magazines or on social media really look like. In the pdf that we were looking at it was asking how it makes people feel about how pretty and amazing the celebrities look like, we were looking at how it impacts us. like looking  how we feel when we see the pretty and amazing people on social media or in magazines. Today we learnt That the pictures that we see on social media or on magazines are fake. Some pictures   that are posted are real but some are fake . The fancy pictures that we see in magazines or on social media is photo shopped. In the slide it taught the hole class not too not be insecure of their self because they are different and they are perfect in their own way.

Healthy living

Nutritional information 

Today we have been learning about how many sugar and grams are in cans and other products. So in order to live healthy you need to eat nutritious food. In the ads from the TV it advertises us to buy Milo because it apparently is very healthy  and has a great taste. Well the ads are not always right, you never now how healthy it is and how many sugar it has. Here are some information about how much sugar are in a big tin of Milo  and truth tat it is not that healthy.


  • In a big tin of Milo the sugar is 9.2g
  • Milo with skim milk might have 4.5 health stars , But Milo only has 1.5 health stars in real life
  • Nestle was accused of manipulating the system and “health washing” the sugary product. 
  •  3  teaspoons of Milo is roughly 9 grams of sugar”. ... Out of this 6%, 3% is natural sugar (from milk and malt) and 3% is added sugar.

Health work

Health/Sugar

Kia ora everyone today i am going to show you something me and my hurumanu  class are working on for health work. So what we are doing in health , we are trying to figure out how many sugar tsp are in drinks, drinks like Fizzy,fruit juice,sports drinks,powdered drinks, flavoured milk and energy drinks. SO we had to guess how many tsp of sugar was in all of them so we had one group of five  each group had to figure out how many tsp of sugar are in drinks. So we have guessed the tsp of sugar then we found out how many tsp of sugar are really in it. So we got too have a chart and fill up a bag of how many tsp of sugar are in the drinks here is our groups work.
