Kia orana today i am going to show you my work me and my class have been working on for 7 hours. We have worked on this and have learnt a lot about cancer. I am so happy i chose this crisis to learn about because it is interesting and half of the people in this world is going through a tough time battling cancer and some a enjoying the survival of cancer. We were supposed to find a lot of information that make a presentation about the health crisis we chose then after we would write down all the information we would have to post it on our blog. Anne frank

 Anne frank

Kia orana today i will be answering question about Anne Frank and the  secret annex. Anne frank was a 13 year old girl who went in hiding with her family, Anne frank stayed in a secret annex hidden by a bookshelf, they stayed in the annex for 2 years before they got found an were sent to concentration camp. 

• Why were they in hiding. Anne frank and her family were in hiding because Margot was called up to concentration camp. Hitler the current leader back in the days didn't like the Jews so when any teenager turns sixteen they would be sent to concentration camp. The family didn't want Margot to go to concentration camp so the hole family went into hiding after a month from Anne's 13th birthday. Anne got a Diary for her birthday from her father which she used to write everything that happened while they were in hiding. the diary was called kitty, Kitty led us to a great true story.

•  What problems did Anne face. While hey were in hiding Anne didn't really have a good relationship with her mother. Anne didn't have a good relationship with her mother because Margot was her mother's favorite child. Anne's fountain pen fell and burnt from in the pocket. She wasn't able to go outside because her family would be seen and they would all be sent to concentration camp to either e killed or be slaves. Anne started to grow and she understood how other people felt and how she felt. She also had feelings for Peter in the annex and it was hard for her because she thought that people would judge her. A hard thing that i remember that happened to her was that in the beginning when she had to go into hiding she had to leave her cat which she loved dearly the name of her cat was Mouschi.

Experimenting

 Melting ice in glove.

Kia Orana today i wll be talk to you about melting ice in a glove. So today in our science class we were answering some questions but we did research about it we had to know the answers by heart and there were 4 questions. When we were answering the question we came past the fourth question , so for the fourth questuion we experimented on it we had foam, tin foil,  a plastic glove and rubber. WIth this supplies we had to choose one to melt our ice in. I chose a glove to melt my ice. After we had pick a choice we had to time how long the ice will melt in our hands. It took 11 minutes and seconds for the ice to melt in my hands. The conductor of this was glove and tin foil and the insulator was rubber and foam. The reason why the rubber and foam didn't work because cloth/ thick plastic do not conducy heat very well so it goes slowly. I learnt 2 words during this COnductor and insulator. A conductor is heat energy moving faster. A insulator is heat moving slowely. 

Dry ice 

for this we experimented on ice water , warm water and hot water. We put our hand in each of these conatiners for 20 seconds and see hoe it feels to go from one to another then we would write down the results. Then we experimented with dry ice we did'nt do the xprment but our Lovely teacher did Mr Hamlin. FOr this Mr brought in a christmas tree filled with water and food colouring in a tube. ANd we watched the dry ice desolve in the water.

Water Safety

Bula vinaka. So in a few days we will be heading of to jelly park as a school trip. We are doing activities based on jelly park I picked 8 tips on water safety. When you go in pools or in the ocean for a swim there can be things that might be in your way and cause you to drown.  Here are my tips on water safety.

Fun Run

 Kids Can 

So today I will be talking to you about the fun run. The Fun run was really fun (obviously why would they call it a FUN RUN!).We had to run 2 laps around the park where we got color thrown and us then we got water sprayed on us, then after that we went through a place where we got more color thrown at us then we had to go under a net, then after that we had to get in a line and had to do a trick maybe a gymnastic trick or any tricks I did a bridge because I do not know how to do a gymnastics trick, then we had to line up again with a partner to race through the bouncy castle, Then after we had slided down the bouncy castle we got water spraid on us while running to the next obstacle. The next obstacle is where we had to jump over the box thingy i'm not sure what it was but we had to jump over it, Then we stepped in the middle of tyres then finally we ran to the finishing point where we had color thrown at us again!. After we finshed these activities we had sparkling drinks. The fun run was really fun we got color spraid on us to make ou t- shirt look beautiful, we got to spend some time with our friends, we got to get outside and enjoy nature and we got to have FUN!. here is a picture of my frineds and the bouncy castle.

Egg drop 

So today i am showing what we were doing for our recent project with Mr razing er in Science. Today i am showing you my project and my friends project for this. I am working with my friend today because she doesn't Chromebook right know so i am paring up with her that will be meaning i am going to show you her projects as well. Before we did the egg drop we answer some question based on egg drop. 

Tina's Explanation- So first me and my partner were working on Popsicle sticks. For my project I used rubber bands so we could keep the Popsicle together and we were trying to make a cube.So we put our egg in it and then we dropped it and then it didn't break until I pushed on it and it broke. here is my photo and my video. 

Linny- So for my project our egg survived i made m,y project for spunches, rubber bands, barbecue sticks, posicals sticks and tape. For the spunches me and my team had to make a comfortable space for the egg to land when it hits the ground. We needed rubber bands to keep the sticks secure so it doesn't brake. For the barb argue sticks me and my team didn't really use it but for other they did. For the popcical sticks we had to make a secure and create something to keep the egg in there and for not braking. We used the tape for putting the comfortable space off the eggs and stick it on to our base. I worked with 2 of my friends with this project each and every one of us took part of building this. Our eggs glad survived, am so happy that it worked because i was worrying about the egg but luckily it survived. I thank my team for this it was fun and joyful. Gravity

Kia ora, today we are answering questions about gravity. For this we have to answer question on our blog so we can post it straight away so our teacher can see what we have done. We have to explain our answers properly and make it worth the time. 

Is gravity the same in all planets? Gravity holds our world together. Gravity is a little stronger in places with more mass  underground than in places with less mass. No they are not the same in very planet such as Mercury, Moon, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. No it is not the same because their are different sizes to different planets.  

How is gravity related to mass? Objects with more mass have more gravity. Gravity  gets weak with distance. So  the closer objects are to each other the bigger and stronger their gravitational pull is. Earth's gravity comes from all its mass. Mass is  a large number of objects crowed together and how much you weigh. 

Calculate you weight on other planets in your solar system. I weigh 53 kg and I would weigh most on Jupiter. On Jupiter 120.0 kg. I would weigh less on on Mercury  and mars on Mercury I weigh 20  kg.

How would your life be different if you lived on a planet with higher gravity? With lower gravity? With higher gravity you wouldn't run or walk and if you put on a suit you could be hard . For less gravity we would jump higher and you wouldn't survive that much our bones be weak. We need gravity to keep us together.

 2 Problems with going to Jupiter:

There is no oxygen on Jupiter so you would need to bring a lot.

next is air conditions it is really hot in Jupiter so it would be best to bring a air conditioner.

Kia ora today we are answering questions that our science teacher Mr Reizinger has given us .  We are Answering questions based on Mars perseverance Mission.

Where does the mission plan to land on mars? What are they looking for? 

The first  four crew of astronauts were to land on mars on 2025 in jezero crater. they are searching for signs of ancient microbial life. Microbial life is used arsenic to thrive in a world without oxygen. 

How will the vehicle and without being damaged. using the parachute there is a parachute that is attached to the vehicle so it can land safely.

Social and reading hurumanu

 Bright fine gold.

  Today in hurmuanu we are learning about gold mining. Today in our hurumanu class we are supposed to make a blog post talking about what we know about gold mining and discrimination.  Discrimination is when someone is treated unfairly or different.  For example Discrimination means a group of people or someone that is treated differently or unfairly judged by her characteristics. 

That's all i know about gold mining and discrimination. Next time i will find out more and make another blog that would be full of information about gold mining.

 Star navigating questions. 

Kia ora today for science we are answering questions about navigation in space. We are answering question in our blog.  Were going to research the questions and answer them on our blog. 

1.What is a solar system?  Solar system is a collection of planets and their moons in orbit round the sun, together with smaller bodies in the form of space rocks, meteoroids, and comets.  space rocks aka asteroids.  

2. What is the milky way and example of? The milky way is the galaxy in which we live in. It is a spiral shaped (large star system/large group of things) that contains (more than two hundred) billion stars, including our Sun. It is about 100,000 (multiples of 6 trillion miles) across and about 10,000 (multiples of 6 trillion miles) thick.

3. Stars die because they run out  nuclear fuel. Really huge stars use up their hydrogen fuel quickly, but hot enough to fuse heavier elements such as helium and carbon. Once their is no fuel left the stars collapses and the outer layers explode as a supernova.

4.  Find 3 facts about the black hole:

• There are three categorise of black holes. 
• Categories of black holes. Stellar, intermediate, supermassive, miniature.  

 

Writing and Art.

Kia ora.

Today it was the day to finish of our story for our writing and our art for our writing. So for this term we have been learning about perspective drawing and writing. We have been planning and writing our story for over 7 weeks now. We have also been practising our art too. So for our art we have been drawing the setting and the characters for our story. For every week that we would have this we would jump into our groups with our teacher and start planning. After We planned all our setting and character drawing including our writing we would start writing our story. It took us 4 weeks to right our story. After we would finish our story we would have to at least finish one setting and one character drawing. We were running out of time so we were quickly rushing. This is two of my settings and one of my character. So that is my work.  During this seven weeks of work it's been frustrating. It's frustrating because you have to make your work good quality. It's also frustrating because you had to finish it in time that made me want to shout and cry as I was really frustrated. But the good thing is that i enjoyed the drawing and writing. I enjoyed the drawing because it was fun and I learnt a lot about it how to actually draw. I enjoyed writing because i had a sad side to it.  The Diary of Anne frank

Kia ora today our lovely teacher asked us to make a blog post of the diary of Anne frank. So back then Anne Frank was thirteen, Anne was a girl who went into hiding with her family. Anne's family were Jews but they used to be Germans. One day, Hitler took all the Jews residentship away from them. Hitler would only take away the people that didn't have blond hair and blue eyes, and as for the rest of the people they would be sent to concentration camp or be killed by German solider. He made up horrible rules for the jews to follow but one rule was very unfair, the rule said if a teenager turns 16 years old she would be sent to concentration camp or be killed.  So that's why Anne and her family went into hiding. Our teacher always reads this story every Monday and Tuesday and so far it has been a tragic and uncomfortable  and happy year, months, weeks, hours, minutes and seconds for Anne and her family. It has been a nightmare for Anne so far because there is another family going into hiding with them, and so far I can describe them as a pain they are the Vann dan's. Annes family and the Vann dan's family were living in the Dussals house, they were so nice, generous and superb. It is very amazing for them to let the Franks  go in hiding in there house. It is a very risky thing to do because they can get killed if they are  caught hiding jews. The Franks and the Vann Daan's do not get along with each other very well. They fight and say mean things about each other. Mrs Vann Daan always has to say multiple mean things about Anne which made her very angry. In the story, there are two new characters and they are doctors.  This story has been amazing and really good. So far, whats going on is that Anne has been having trouble with her clothes and more they have a lot of problems that have been going on in that house. These are the amazing family Members of Anne franks family. Now Anne had a diary anne diecided to personify her diary so she called her diary kitty. Her parents got her the diary on her 13th birthday. This diary was her best friend in the hole world and it was the only thing that understand her. This diary was her best friend while she was in hiding. She loved kitty so much. Kitty was really amazing and superb. She could write down all her thoughts down onto her diary. The diary was very very very very superb to her.  Her3e is a picture of her diary.

My Speech

 World war 2 survivers

 In our hurumanu 2 class we have been researching about a topic then Looking at facts about it or sentences about it then turning it into a speech. My speech was about world war 2 and the people who had survived it. I found a very strong amazing guy who survived world war 2. I can't believe he was actually in the war like this is crazy!!. After we had finished our research we had to time our self reading it then we had to choose a option either we print our speech or read it on our Chromebook i decided to print mine because i had enough of devices. After we had print it we would read it then get into group of three to start making a video of us reading our speech. First activity

Today in our Wangana class we were split up in to pairs then the teacher told us to put ourselves in the letter A or B. After we had discussed who would be which the teacher would call up the letter. Then when the person with A or B gets to go up and get their instruction. After we get the instruction we were meant do it but not tell the person what instruction we had so it was all about trust. 

Second activity

 So for the second activity we talked about the times when somebody says something to you then you just ignore and later in the day you thought about what you could have  said to the person. For this activity the teacher allowed us to do this activity outside as it was very hot and sunny outside. So we went  then the teacher told us to bob down then she asked (Did you have a moment were somebody said something mean or bad to you and you just ignored it but later in the day you think about what you have had said to the person. ) She said if we had answer we had to pit our hands onto our heads so she could know that we had an answer. Then kindly explained to us how that she  or anyone else would have recreated. Then she sent us i to pairs to talk about that moment. We talked about it  then  we were told to go inside. And ones we were outside we were told to make a blog post about what we did s=which i am doing now.

Cooking class

 Burgers 

Hello

Today i would like to talk about what we did on Thursday and Friday last week. Last week on Thursday and Friday we had cooking class. And our wonderful teacher Mrs Hindson told us that we were making burgers. So on Friday we made the patty and left it on the fridge for the night. Than on Friday we cooked them and made out full on burger. We put the bun on the board than we put our sauce than we put our vegetables and like carrots, beetroot, lettuce, onion and more. that we finished up then we had Mrs Hindson have a look at it then if she said we could eat it then we could. She said the burger had to be finished in twenty minutes so she said we could eat it now or eat it later but everyone decided to eat their burgers on the spot because they wanted to finish it n twenty minutes. We enjoyed our burgers very much. It was the ( BEST BURGER EVER!!!! ). of course for us to master this delicacy we had to follow the directions/instructions aka recipe. If it was a long monologue we had to break it down so we didn't have that much. Complements

Class Complements

 Kia ora:

On Monday our teacher gave us a sheet that had a rectangle inside and around it was some designs for us to colour. This sheet was for the class to put down some deep complements. First we had to decorate it then we would go around the class to write down some nice things on their sheets of paper. At the end when we wrote down all our complements we had to read them. 

When i read mine i felt really nice,happy, surprised and appreciated i felt really good when i read all my complements. Giving people complements was really fund it felt really good to tell me nice things about them. This activity was really nice and fun to do because we got to read nice and amazing complements and giving people complements that makes them fell good. Here is my sheet.

Aotearoa history show summary

In the past 6 weeks we have been listening to Aotearoa history shows. We have been learning about New Zealand wars and other new Zealand history's. we have been learning facts about it and writing down so we can answer questions in the doc that our teacher have given us to complete. In the task their were questions about the History show that we had to answer after we have done it we would do the word blank. The word blank is like finding words that you didn't know about we has to write down the word and research the meaning of it. There were each show for  each doc  that was full of questions of questions. So this was the last time we did the history show. Today we had to do a summary of what we learnt in the recent show. There were 3,00 people who died in the wars. Here is my summary and the facts that i have written down for the recent show too.

Today in hurumanu 6 we learnt about social media and body image. We were talking and looking at how the celebrities  and other people in magazines or on social media really look like. In the pdf that we were looking at it was asking how it makes people feel about how pretty and amazing the celebrities look like, we were looking at how it impacts us. like looking  how we feel when we see the pretty and amazing people on social media or in magazines. Today we learnt That the pictures that we see on social media or on magazines are fake. Some pictures   that are posted are real but some are fake . The fancy pictures that we see in magazines or on social media is photo shopped. In the slide it taught the hole class not too not be insecure of their self because they are different and they are perfect in their own way.
